My favorite rule of copywriting, is never ask a question when the reader's reply might be "No." As in, "Do you wish you could show your husband how much you love him every single day?" Or, "Do you wish you could have the great taste of pizza in a soft drink?" Even if the answer is "why, yes!" a good slice of the population wants to say, "No, and who the hell asked you?" A misguided question risks contempt. Even a seemingly safe bet, like, "Sick of your job?" might be read by someone who reviews luxury spas. Special interests fall into the trap of asking a question that is answered with ambivalence. "Fed up with outrageous school redistricting procedures in Alameda Country?" Should I be? Never ask a rhetorical question unless you know the answer with absolute certainty.

That's why only porn stars should ever ask, "Yeah, you like that?"
