I went up into the Oakland Hills in search of wild huckleberries, and brought home wild huckleberries. I have finally begun putting together my forest fantasy menu. Not only did I find two species of huckleberry, but also a hazelnut tree, wild grapes, blackberries, pink currants, and a few more berries I have yet to identify. I'm going to roast little birds and serve them with wild nuts and berries. I might make hazelnut crepes filled with wild mushrooms.

Meanwhile I've produced an intense strawberry syrup with which I will at long last make pink bread pudding.
